NEW DELHI: CPM has come forward supporting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's allegation that massive electoral malpractices had taken place during the Haryana assembly elections. Taking to his X handle, CPM general secretary MA Baby said that the revelations made by Rahul Gandhi were shocking and that the Election Commission should prove its credibility before the people of the nation.
'LoP Rahul Gandhi has made shocking revelations in his press conference today. So far, in response to all such allegations, the ECI has given evasive replies which has created colossal damage to its credibility. It is up to the constitutional body to regain the people's trust and ensure its legitimacy. Therefore, the Election Commission of India should come clean on the alleged massive electoral malpractices in Haryana,' Baby wrote.

It is up to the constitutional body to regain the people's trust…
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had alleged that there was massive voter fraud in the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections. He claimed that out of two crore voters in the state, 25 lakh votes were “stolen.” This means, according to him, that one in every eight voters in Haryana is a fake voter, or about 12.5% of the total.
However, the Election Commission has rejected Rahul Gandhi’s allegations. Officials from the Commission said that not a single appeal has been received against the Haryana voter list. They added that there are currently only 22 election petitions related to the 90 Assembly constituencies in the state. The Election Commission also questioned what the Congress polling agents were doing on polling day if such large-scale irregularities had actually occurred.
