NEW DELHI: The high-speed rail networks in China and Japan are famous around the world. With the Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train service set to begin, India too will soon join this list. A dedicated track for the project is already under construction. Meanwhile, India’s semi–high-speed train, the Vande Bharat, runs on the same tracks used by regular trains. Now, a video shared by a foreign traveller praising the Vande Bharat is going viral on social media.
The video features German traveller Alexander Welder, who shared his experience of travelling on the Vande Bharat. He posted the video with the caption, 'A journey on the most modern train in India.' Alexander and his friends travelled in the Executive Chair Car, the premium class on the train. The journey lasted five hours.
In the video, Alexander mentions that the total cost of the travel, including food, was only Rs 2,100 per person. “Today, we are travelling in the Executive Class of the Vande Bharat, which is considered the most modern train in India. I’ll show you what the experience is like,” he says at the beginning of the video.
He also talks about the 360-degree rotating seats and the large window panels that offer wide views of the scenery. He added that while travelling, he felt as if he was in a train in Japan or China.
