NEW DELHI: Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat has rejected the claims that the RSS is controlling the BJP. He was responding to a question about the delay in announcing the new BJP president. Mohan Bhagwat said that RSS does not interfere in the decisions of the BJP. "If RSS chose BJP president, would it have taken so long?" Mohan Bhagwat asked while speaking to the media on the sidelines of an event to mark the centenary celebrations of the RSS.
"I am an expert in running 'shakhas', BJP is expert in running government, we can only give suggestions to each other. No matter how long the BJP takes to decide on a new president, the RSS has no say in it. We have good relations not only with the central government but also with all the state governments. The various Parivar organisations work independently. It cannot be said that everyone has the same opinion," Mohan Bhagwat said.
"The Sangh can only give suggestions on various matters, but the decision always belongs to the BJP," he added. Mohan Bhagwat also clarified that the organisation does not interfere in governance or political appointments.
