NEW DELHI: A young doctor died tragically due to severe burn injuries in the national capital the other day. Bhavana Yadav (25), a native of Rajasthan, who was preparing for her postgraduate studies in Delhi, was found dead in the incident.

Bhavana suffered severe burns in Hisar, Haryana. Her mother was informed about the incident, and the teen was shifted for expert treatment in Jaipur, where she died.

Bhavana, who was attending classes online, had gone to Delhi for her weekly exams. It is not clear how she ended up in Hisar. Bhavana’s mother, Gayatri Yadav, has filed a complaint demanding an investigation into the incident.

As per the mother’s statement, Bhavana has been attending online classes and travelling to Delhi every week for exams. There was an exam scheduled in Delhi on April 21, and Bhavana was with her sister, a UPSC aspirant. On both April 21 and 22, Bhavana stayed with her sister.

On April 23, Bhavana informed her mother that she would be returning the next day. The next call that reached Gayatri was from a man named Umesh Yadav, who broke the news of Bhavana's tragic injuries and that the teen was undergoing treatment at Soni Hospital in Hisar, Haryana.

Bhavana's mother arrived in Hisar soon after. There are no hospital records on how Bhavana suffered the burns or where she came from. The teen was soon moved to SMS Hospital in Jaipur, where she died on the night of April 24. Bhavana completed her medical studies in 2023 in the Philippines.
