BENGALURU: In a shocking incident, a youth was stabbed to death for allegedly asking for an extra piece of chicken during a wedding party. The incident took place yesterday in Karnataka’s Belagavi district. The deceased has been identified as Vinod Malashetti (30), a native of Yaragatti taluk.

Vinod had come to attend the wedding party of his friend Abhishek Koppad. The feast was arranged by Abhishek’s family. While food was being served, Vinod demanded an additional piece of chicken from Vittal Harugoppa, who was serving the curry. He allegedly expressed dissatisfaction over the small portion, which sparked a heated argument.

The quarrel escalated, and in a fit of rage, Vittal allegedly stabbed Vinod with a knife that was being used to cut onions. Vinod died on the spot. Police have registered a case of murder in connection with the incident.
