KASARAGOD: The Rajapuram police have registered a case against a 36-year-old woman for the alleged sexual assault of a 17-year-old boy.
The incident came to light after the 17-year-old was taken into custody by the police in a separate investigation involving the alleged sexual assault of a girl undergoing treatment at Kanhangad Hospital. During questioning, the teenager revealed that he had been sexually assaulted by the 36-year-old woman within the Rajapuram police station limits prior to his own arrest.
Based on the boy's complaint, the Hosdurg police initially registered the case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The matter was subsequently transferred to the Rajapuram police station because the incident took place within its jurisdiction. To further the investigation, the teenager’s confidential statement was officially recorded before the Hosdurg Magistrate’s Court.
