Asmina, mother of two fell in love with receptionist Joby while working in hotel, finally murder

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: More information emerged in the incident in which a woman of Kozhikode was found murdered at a lodge in the capital city. Asmina (38) of Vadakara was found dead at a lodge in Moonumukku in Attingal. Joby George alias Roy (30) of Puthuppally in Kottayam and a cleaning staff of a lodge brought her here. A search has been intensified for the youth, who fled from the place.

Asmina and Joby met at a hotel in Kayamkulam. The woman was a cook there and Joby was a receptionist. The two fell in love. The police have found that Roy and Asmina were staying together in Kayamkulam and Mavelikkara areas. Joby started working at a hotel in Attingal a week ago. His identity card was not given. In the meantime, he brought the woman to the lodge on Tuesday night, claiming to be his wife.

After making her sit in the room, Joby went to the reception with his colleagues. His colleagues said that he went back to the room around 1:30 am. When the two were not seen in the morning, the staff knocked the door. When the door was not opened, they informed the police. The body was found lying on the bed. Police said the body had injuries on her hands, head and various parts of the body, and blood was found on the clothes, walls, floor and bed. A broken bottle of alcohol was found. There are signs of a fight and it is suspected that the cause of death may have been after hitting the head with the bottle.

CCTV footage of Joby leaving the lodge at around 4:30 am on Wednesday has been obtained. It is also being investigated whether anyone else besides Joby is involved in the murder. A staff said that a person had come in search of them at night. The woman is divorced and has two children.
