IDUKKI: More than 200 stray dogs were allegedly caught and buried alive in Munnar. The Idukki Animal Rescue Team has filed a complaint against the driver of a vehicle belonging to the Munnar Panchayat. A case has been registered against him based on the complaint. Footage of stray dogs being transported in the vehicle has emerged. The police said that they will investigate the incident in detail.

Stray dog problem

Stray dogs are posing a threat to people's lives in various areas of Thazhakara Gram Panchayat in Alappuzha, but the panchayat authorities are not taking any action. Hundreds of stray dogs are roaming around Thazhakara, Arunoottimangalam, Vettiyar Bridge and Mankamkuzhy Market area. Stray dogs are camping in this area, which has a lot of fish markets and poultry shops.

The dogs often become violent, which scares the locals. The locals have alleged that the gram panchayat authorities are reluctant to put an end to the stray dog problem despite raising complaints several times.
