
THRISSUR: A case has been registered against Sharon, husband of Archana, who was pregnant and died of burns at her in-laws’ house in Varandarappilly. A case has been registered against him after imposing dowry harassment charges. Haridas, father of Archana levelled serious allegations against Sharon and his family. He told media that they murdered his daughter. There are allegations that they harassed her constantly in the name of dowry.
The police had taken Sharon into custody the other day. Panchayat member Bindu Priyan said Sharon is an accused in a ganja case. She said Archana died due to the brutal harassment of her in-laws. Archana’s charred body was found in the concrete culvert near Sharon’s house. She is likely to have set her ablaze inside the house and then may have run outside. The couple got married seven months ago. The two fell in love when Sharon and his family came to stay in a rented house near Archana’s mother’s family house.
Sharon had recently built a house on his own. Kerosene used for painting was stored at home. She died when Sharon’s mother went to pick her grandchild from the Anganwadi. A decision on charging Sharon's mother will be taken only after further investigation.
