KALADY: Police have made a crucial discovery in the murder of Malayattur native Chitrapriya (19). Police have found that the accused Alan (21) committed the murder by throwing a 20-kilogram stone on Chitrapriya's head. After committing the crime, the accused changed his disguise and escaped from the scene on another bike. Police have also said that a search is underway for Alan's friend who brought this bike.
The police have found that Alan had tried to kill Chitrapriya earlier. The accused had told the police that he had planned to kill the woman who had come from Bengaluru by pushing her off the Kalady bridge months ago. The police said that a team has left for Bengaluru to conduct further investigation.
Chitrapriya went missing on December 6. Alan, suspecting that Chitrapriya was in love with another man, took her to a rubber plantation on his bike and hit her on the head with a stone during an argument. The police had received information that Chitrapriya and Alan had travelled to the abandoned rubber plantation to end their five-year romance. During the argument, Chitrapriya slapped Alan repeatedly, giving various reasons. Alan, who lost his temper, hit her on the head with a piece of laterite stone. The blood-stained stone was found near the body. The post-mortem report states that Chitrapriya died of a fractured skull and bleeding profusely.
