
KANNUR: A CPM activist sustained serious injuries in a bomb explosion in Pinarayi. The injured has been identified as Vipin Raj. It is reported that his palm has been scattered into shreds. He has been shifted to a private hospital. The incident happened near his house Tuesday afternoon.
Reports say that the explosion occurred during the making of the bomb. CPM centres said the accident was caused by a firecracker. The incident happened at an isolated place. The police have reached the spot and are checking whether any explosives were kept there. The police also hint that it was a firecracker that exploded.
Meantime, Vipin Raj is an accused in several cases, including hurling a bomb at the Congress office. The incident has happened five kilometres from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's house.
