Demanded nude photos of minor girl after offering her role in film; youth arrested in Kasargod

KOZHIKODE: A youth has been arrested for allegedly demanding nude photos from a girl after promising her a role in a film. The accused, Shibin (29), a native of Kaattippalam, Kasargod, was arrested by the Beypore Police under sections of the POCSO Act.

According to police, Shibin had been harassing the girl, a Class 10 student from Beypore, through WhatsApp. He contacted the girl, claiming to be a film director and offered her a chance to act in a film. Later, he demanded nude photos from her.

Following the girl's complaint, the Beypore Police, with the help of the Cyber Cell, identified and traced the accused. The arrest was carried out by a team led by SI Angajan, CPO Sarun, Feroke ACP Crime Squad members ASI Arun Kumar and SCPO Vinod. Shibin was produced before the court and remanded.
