KOLLAM: An eight-member gang spread panic in West Kallada by carrying out attacks at two locations on the same day in the region. The incident took place last night at Vilanthara. The gang first attacked two brothers who were travelling on a bike and later entered a wedding house, where they vandalised property.

The attackers arrived in an open jeep and on bikes. At Kottaikkattumukku, they assaulted the youths who were coming on a bike. The attack was reportedly triggered after the victims questioned the group’s rash driving. The gang used iron rods and helmets to carry out the assault. The injured, identified as Shyam Raj and Binu, suffered serious head injuries and were admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.

The gang then reached a wedding house at Kottakkuzhimukku, where they damaged bikes parked on the road. They later forced their way into the house and smashed window panes and other items. The group reportedly created panic in the area for more than an hour. People present at the wedding house, including women and children, fled the scene in fear. Based on the statements of the injured youths, the Sasthamkotta Police have registered a case and started an investigation.
