PATHANAMTHITTA: A newlywed couple, who were going in a car for a photoshoot on their wedding day, was attacked by youths. The gang blocked their way and assaulted them. The incident happened at Nedumpara in Pathanamthitta. They were attacked for not giving way to their bikes. Four including three brothers, were arrested by the Keezhavaipur police.

Abhijith Aji (27), Akhiljith Aji (25), Amaljith Aji (22) of Mannancheri Kallooppara, Nedumpara, and Mayukh Nath (20) of Puramattom Valiyaparampil House were arrested. The newlyweds, Mukesh Mohan (31) of Nedumpara Kolanikkal Malayil, and Deepthi Mol of Kurichi in Kottayam were assaulted.

The couple got married on August 17. They were attacked as the car carrying the couple did not give way for their bikes to pass. Photographers were also with the couple in the car. After stopping the car, Abhijith attacked the bride and the groom. The other accused smashed the rear window of the car. They damaged the doors by smashing them.

A fight broke out between Mukesh' friends and the accused on Abhijith's wedding day a year ago. They may have taken revenge for it. Akhiljith and Amaljith are also accused in another case. The police said that a detailed investigation into the incident is underway.
