Lady doctor found dead in flat in Ernakulam

KOCHI: A lady doctor was found dead in her flat in Ernakulam. Dr. Meenakshi Vijayakumar (35) from Aruvithura, Erattupetta, Kottayam, was found dead at her residence in Marampally. She was the Head of Surgery in the ICU at Rajagiri Hospital, Aluva.

Concern arose when repeated calls to her phone went unanswered. During a search, her flat was found locked. Perumbavoor police opened the door and discovered her body in the bedroom.

Preliminary investigations suggest that she committed suicide after administering herself a lethal dose of anaesthesia. Dr. Meenakshi had been living alone following her divorce in 2019.
