THRISSUR: Livia Jose, the relative who framed Sheela Sunny, a beauty parlor owner in Chalakudy, in a fake drug case, has been taken into custody. Livia is the sister of Sheela Sunny's daughter-in-law. The investigation team had arraigned the woman in the case. She was arrested when she landed in Mumbai from Dubai. The police had issued a lookout notice for her. Livia was an employee of a private firm in Bengaluru. She fled to Dubai after being summoned by the police for questioning in the fake drug case. She will be brought to Kerala tomorrow.

Narayana Das, the first accused arrested in the case, had revealed that Livia Jose was the one who kept the fake LSD stamp on Sheela Sunny's scooter. Livia was later made accused. Livia's name is also in the police report submitted to the court. Amidst this, Livia fled to Dubai.

A police team led by the Kodungallur DySP took Narayana Das into custody from Bengaluru. Sheela Sunny was arrested by the excise team on February 27, 2023, for possession of narcotics. The arrest was based on information received via an internet call. However, it was later confirmed in a scientific examination that fake LSD stamps were seized. Sheela spent 72 days in jail for a crime she did not commit.

It was found that the person who gave false information to the excise in the incident was Narayana Das, a native of Tripunithura, Erur, a friend of Livia. The excise crime branch had made Narayana Das an accused in the case at that time. Meanwhile, the high court ordered the case to be handed over to the police and a team led by the Kodungallur DySP began an investigation.

It is reported that there was a dispute between Sheela's family and her daughter-in-law's family regarding the pledging of her daughter-in-law's gold. When Sheela Sunny tried to go to Italy to pay off debts, the daughter-in-law's family complained that she was leaving without making a decision on the gold. The police also said that the reason for the enmity is Livia's fear that she would lose the property she also inherited. Sheela was framed in the case as revenge for the neglect faced by Livia’s sister from her mother-in-law. The drug case was then planned and executed to block Sheela's trip. The accused bought LSD stamps from an African in Bengaluru, thinking they were original, and kept them in Sheela's bag. However, the accused came to know that these were fake after a police inspection.
