THRISSUR: A suspect, identified as Nithin, managed to evade arrest after releasing a pet dog on the Excise team that arrived at his residence in Parakkakalveedu, Kodungallur, Thrissur. The Excise team, led by Kodungallur Excise Range Inspector M. Shamnad, had visited the location based on information regarding illegal liquor sales at the premises, particularly on first and dry days. This isn't Nithin's first involvement in such cases.

Upon the team's arrival, Nithin released his pet dog, enabling him to flee through the rear of the house. Despite an intensified search effort, Nithin remains at large. Subsequently, 52 bottles of liquor and the scooter used for smuggling were seized from his residence. The Excise department informed that the search for the accused is ongoing.
