THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There was a major drug bust in Attingal. The DANSAF team seized one and a half kilos of MDMA. Sanju, Nandu, Unnikannan and Pradeep were arrested in the incident. This is the largest drug bust in recent times.

Drugs worth crores were brought to the capital city from abroad. The drugs were not found during checking at the airport. Sanju is an accused in gold smuggling and drug trafficking.

The DANSAF team had received information that Sanju had gone abroad earlier this month. The police suspected that he might have gone abroad to smuggle gold or drugs. Sanju and his accomplice Nandu returned this morning. Though the DANSAF team tried to stop the vehicle carrying them, it drove away without stopping.

The DANSAF team that followed searched the vehicle but did not find any drugs. However, the pickup van that was just behind was also examined on suspicion. It contained dates. However, MDMA was found when a detailed inspection was conducted. The police also took Unnikannan and Pradeep, who were in this vehicle, into custody. The two are Sanju's aides.
