Man beats 10-year-old daughter, fractures shoulder bone for delay in folding clothes

KOLLAM: A ten-year-old girl in Kollam was brutally beaten by her father and fractured her shoulder bone for the delay in folding clothes. The incident happened at Kundara in Kollam. He brutally beat the child while consuming liquor at home. The police arrested her father, a native of Keralapuram.

The incident happened two days ago. When he was drinking with his friends at home, he asked his daughter to fold the clothes lying on the bed. He beat her brutally for not folding it. She fractured her shoulder bone and her arm. There are also bruises on her neck. She said that he hit her head and face on the door and kicked her on her shoulder.

The incident happened when her mother went for work. Only she and her sister were at home at the time of the incident. The girl’s mother said that they told her that she sustained the injury in a fall. The girl told her mother about the incident when they returned from the hospital.

Her father is an accused in the murder of his father-in-law. The girl is the witness in the case. The police are examining whether enmity towards it is the reason for the torture. A case has been registered against him under the Juvenile Justice Act and attempted murder.
