Man hacks son to death for brutally thrashing grandchildren in inebriated condition

IDUKKI: A man hacked his 38-year-old son to death at Chemmannar in Idukki. The dead has been identified as Jeneesh. The police have taken into custody his father Thampy.

The incident happened at 7 pm last night.

Jeneesh, who came home in an inebriated condition, attacked his own children and his father. Thampy hacked Jeneesh while trying to save his grandchildren from him. Jeneesh, who sustained injuries on his hand was immediately taken to a nearby hospital and from there to Kottayam Medical College. He died Thursday morning at 5.30 am.

Jeneesh vomited many times on the way to the hospital. So, it is not clear whether hacking is the cause of his death. Police said that a clarity would be obtained only after the post-mortem report comes. Police said that if the post mortem report proves hacking as the cause of the incident, then murder charge will be imposed on Thampy.
