Mother beats one-year-old child in anger and sends footage to husband; says she wants husband to file case against her

ALAPPUZHA: One-year-old child was brutally beaten by his mother in Mannar. The child was beaten by a native of Kuttamperoor. The mother recorded the footage of the beating on her phone and sent it to the child's father.
The woman is brutally harassing her one-year-old son by saying 'Look, look and enjoy'. 'For the meagre sum of money you give me and the gratitude you show me, this is the only way I can look after your baby. You should go and file a case. That is what I need.'- the woman says while beating the baby. This was also caught in the video.

The footage shows the child crying as his body hurts due to his mother's beating. Yet the mother beats the child again. The woman's husband is a native of Thiruvananthapuram. Media reports that theirs was a remarriage.

There are unconfirmed reports that the man got married again recently. It is indicated that this anger may have been directed at the child by the mother. After the footage came out, the Mannar police registered a case and took the woman into custody. It is reported that the baby has undergone a medical examination. There are bruises on the child's body however his health condition is satisfactory. The child is now under the care of relatives.
