One more held in Hemachandran murder case; Five arrested so far

KALPETTA: One more has been arrested in the murder case of Hemachandran of Sultan Bathery in Wayanad. The investigation team has taken Welbin Mathew of Sultan Bathery, into custody. With this, the number of people arrested in the case has risen to five.

Noushad of Wayand and his friends kidnapped Hemachandran on March 20, 2024, following a financial dispute. The police found that Hemachandran was cheated after calling him to the medical college premises and then kidnapped him in a car. He was later brought to a house in Wayanad and murdered. His body was buried in the Cherambadi forest.

Noushad had planned the murder. He and three of his friends were earlier taken into custody. The investigation team found that Welbin Mathew was also in the car when Hemachandran was kidnapped. He also signed the agreement related to the money transaction as a witness.
