Probe on complaint of women sub-inspectors against senior IPS officer for sending inappropriate messages

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A complaint has been filed against a senior IPS officer of the capital city for sending inappropriate messages. The complaint was filed by women sub inspectors with DIG Ajeetha Begum, who probes complaints of women and children. The complaint against the senior officer is for sending inappropriate messages. SP Merin Joseph of the police headquarters has been given the task of investigating the incident. The action was taken following DIG's report demanding an investigation under the POSH Act.


The statements of the complainants have been recorded. The complaint was filed against an IPS officer in the capital city. He was in charge of law and order. He is presently holding a very important post in the capital city. The complaint said that he sent the messages while serving as the district police chief in southern district. The investigation into the complaint was conducted secretly. Two women officers are standing firm in their complaint. The sub inspectors filed the complaint against the IPS officer weeks ago.
