KOCHI: Case filed against mentalist Aathi and director Jis Joy on a complaint of scamming Rs 35 lakh. The Ernakulam Central Police has registered a case based on a complaint filed by a Kochi native alleging that he was scammed in the name of the show Insomnia.

There are four accused in the case. Adarsh Kolladoth, alias Mentalist Aathi, is the first accused in the case and Jis Joy is the fourth accused. The complaint filed by the Kochi native says that he was cheated by being told that he would make a profit if he invested money in the Insomnia show. The complaint also alleges that he was cheated of Rs 35 lakh in two phases.

Director Jis Joy said that he has nothing to do with the case. He responded that the case will be fought legally. Jis Joy clarified that he is only the director of the Insomnia show and has not taken even 50 paise from the complainant. "The complaint against me is baseless. No agreement has been made with the person who filed the complaint. It is a false complaint and I do not know why my name was dragged into it. I will file a defamation case," Jis Joy responded. Jis Joy said that he and Aathi will meet the media together after he returns from abroad.
