Sexually assaulted 21-year-old mentally challenged woman; youth arrested

PATHANAMTHITTA: A youth has been arrested for sexually assaulting a 21-year-old mentally challenged woman. Subin Sukumaran (37), a native of Mallappally, Pathanamthitta, was arrested by Keezhvaipur Police. The accused allegedly visited the woman’s house when no one else was there and assaulted her after promising marriage.

Subin went into hiding after the police registered a case based on the woman’s statement. He was later arrested near the Mallappally bridge during a police search. He will be produced in court.
