SI stabbed in front of Kozhikode Town Police Station; accused taken into custody

KOZHIKODE: A Sub-Inspector at Kozhikode Town Police Station, Shafi, was stabbed on Saturday. The accused has been identified as Pramod, a native of West Hill. Police have taken him into custody. According to reports, Pramod is an accused in several cases. The attack took place in front of the Town Police Station. Shafi had gone to a hotel near the station to have tea.

At that time, a verbal argument broke out between the hotel supplier and Pramod. As the argument escalated, the Sub-Inspector asked Pramod not to raise his voice. Soon after, Pramod turned aggressive towards the officer as well. The Sub-Inspector tried to restrain him and later stepped outside. At that moment, the accused came from behind and stabbed him. Shafi was immediately rushed to a private hospital for treatment. Locals caught the accused while he was trying to escape and handed him over to the police.
