KANNUR: More details have emerged in the case of the murder of the housewife's daughter-in-law in Karnataka after 30 sovereign gold and cash were stolen. The theft took place on Friday at the house of K.C. Sumatha, who lives near the Sibga Arts And Science College in Kalliad, Irikkur. As part of the investigation, the police called Sumatha's son A.P. Subhash's wife Darshita (22) for information, but she was not available. After this, Darshita, a native of Karnataka, was found murdered inside a lodge in Saligram. The accused in this incident, Darshita's friend Siddharaju (22), was arrested by the Karnataka police.

Police say that Siddharaju and Darshita have known each other for six years. The two had an argument after reaching the lodge in Saligram. Siddharaju then killed the woman by putting an explosive in her mouth and detonating it. It is reported that the electronic detonator used for explosions in quarries was used for this. The police have concluded that the man was trying to make it look like the phone exploded. Siddharaju is a person who knows electrical work.

Police suspect that Siddharaju was provoked by Darshita asking for the money he had borrowed and her decision to go abroad with her husband. Police suspect that Darshita and her friend were involved in the theft. Sumatha and another son, Suraj, had gone to work at the laterite quarry on Friday morning. After they left, Darshita locked the house with her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter and went to her own house in Karnataka. The theft was noticed when Sumatha returned in the evening. 30 sovereign gold and four lakh rupees were stolen. The daughter-in-law was killed during the investigation into this incident. The money and gold have not yet been recovered.
