Smuggled ganja from Andhra to Perumbavoor in luxury car; one person arrested 

CHALAKUDY: 60 kg of ganja that was smuggled from Andhra to Perumbavoor has been seized by the police. A luxury car was used to carry the ganja. One person in the car was taken into custody, but the other one managed to escape. Thrikkakkara native Shameer Jainu (41) was arrested by the special team led by Chalakudy DySP TS Sinoj and DANSAF DySP Shaj Jose.

The accused smuggled the ganja in a Pajero. When the car reached Puthukkad, the accused realised that the police were following them. Following this, they travelled at a high speed through the six-lane road and other small roads. However, the police team managed to intercept the car in Koratty. Upon seeing the police, the youth who was with Shameer jumped out of the car and escaped. The seized ganja is worth around Rs 10 lakhs in the market. The ganja was found wrapped inside the door, inside the seat and kept in special secret compartments.
