Two youths arrested in Kannur for killing python and eating its meat

KANNUR: Two people have been arrested by the forest department on charges of killing a python, skinning it, cooking its meat and eating it. U Pramod (40) of Urumpil House and C Bineesh (37) of Chandanamcheri House, natives of Mundapram, Mathamangalam, are the two arrested.

The two were taken into custody from their premises of their house in third ward of Panappuzha Grama Panchayat. The two were found to have killed a python, cooked its meat and eating it. The python is a species included in schedule one of the Wildlife Protection Act, 2022.
