Woman drunk arrested for unleashing violence, assaults police and locals

KANNUR: A woman has been arrested for barging into her sister’s house and attacking them. The arrested is Rasina of Thalassery. She pushed the women cops, who came to arrest her. The incident happened on Tuesday.


Many including her mother live with her sister. Rasina, who came to the house, demanded money. She unleashed violence when they refused to give her money. She attacked her sister and her fifteen-year-old niece. She also tried to attack her mother.


She damaged the windows of the house and the car. As the violence continued, the family informed Dharmadam police. Rasina is an accused in several cases. A case was registered against her earlier for creating a ruckus in a public place after consuming alcohol.


The incident happened in December 2023. Locals questioned Rasina for rash driving and hitting other vehicles in an intoxicated condition. With this, she hurled abuses and attacked everyone she saw.

A police team led by the sub inspector arrived and took her to the station. She attacked the cop while she was being taken to the hospital for a medical examination.


A case was registered under sections including obstructing the execution of a police officer's duty. The police said Rasina had committed violence many times before that after drunk and that she was arrested in many cases and later released on bail.
