Youth stabs wife five times after fight escalates; arrested

PALAKKAD: A youth stabbed his wife and injured her. The victim has been identified as Shilpa (24), daughter of Baby and Thankamma of Mannarkkad Palakkayam Chethiyath House. Her husband, Robin of Kaithachira was arrested by the police. It is reported that the accused stabbed Shilpa five times. The seriously injured woman has been admitted to a private hospital in Perinthalmanna.

The incident happened this morning. Shilpa and Robin fell in love and got married three and a half years ago. They have two children. The two had been constantly fighting for the past few days and when it escalated, Shilpa shifted to her own house in Palakkayam. Robin came here and attacked her.

Robin stabbed Shilpa with the knife he had in his hand. She was rescued by the locals and family who came running after hearing her screams. Robin was then caught and handed him over to the police. Shilpa was rushed to the hospital and her condition is state to be critical.
