THRISSUR: Suresh Gopi MP has stepped forward reacting to AIIMS in Kerala. While talking to the media, Suresh Gopi said that if the government acquires land in Alappuzha and inform in writing, necessary steps will be taken. Suresh Gopi was responding to a media query that Minister Saji Cherian has verbally informed that land will be provided in Alappuzha.
‘Has been saying this since 2016. If the government writes in writing that they are ready to provide land in Alappuzha, the rest of the things will be looked into then. Thrissur should also be included. J P Nadda had said that AIIMS will come at the right place at the right time. Saying verbally is not enough and if informed in writing, further steps will be taken,' Suresh Gopi clarified. Union Health Minister Nadda responded on the AIIMS issue while inaugurating BJP state samithi meet in Kollam.
Suresh Gopi had earlier said that he has got full support from the central government on AIIMS issue. AIIMS should be set up in Alappuzha itself. Suresh Gopi had also clarified that it is our duty to bring Alappuzha forward as the district is behind other districts in terms of development.
‘If we examine the 13 districts, Alappuzha is behind Idukki. This district is facing great hardships. Therefore, establishing AIIMS in Alappuzha is essential for the development of this hometown. AIIMS should come in Alappuzha itself. If anyone argues that AIIMS should not be set up in Alappuzha for some political reasons, it will definitely be brought to Thrissur,’ Suresh Gopi had said earlier.
