THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Saji Cherian said the CPI and CPM are one in heart. He said there are some disputes with the CPI and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has intervened and is trying to resolve this.
'Although we are working as two parties, we are one party in heart. I believe that we can convince each other on the basis of facts. We should understand the fact that the central government is strangling us. The state should get crores of rupees that are due. This is not anyone's generosity.
It is the share of the money that is being taken away from the state. The center is withholding the rightful money by saying various things. PM Shri is an issue that affects 42 lakh children. The crisis that will arise if the education department does not get the amount due is very big. The education minister has said that the government is not ready to make any difference in the syllabus or curriculum,' clarified the minister.
Meantime, the CPI wants the government to withdraw from the project. CPI ministers K Rajan, P Prasad, G R Anil and Chinchu Rani will abstain from the cabinet meet. Talks are being held in the CPM and CPI. CPM state secretary M V Govindan has reached Thiruvananthapuram.
