THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary M V Govindan stepped forward harshly criticizing former MLA Aisha Potty, who left CPM and joined the Congress. Aisha Potty is a betrayer. She was suffering from the sickness of power, he said.

‘The opposition leader said they will create political surprises. They got Aisha Potty saying to create surprises. Aisha Potty had not participated in any committees. She cited health issues for that. Now everyone understood what that illness was. She was suffering from the sickness of power. No surprises are going to happen in Kerala. V D Satheesan is looking for old people to create surprises. The LDF will create surprises and come to power a third time,' said M V Govindan.

Aisha Potty unexpectedly joined the Congress at the day and night protests staged by the Congress in front of the Lok Bhavan against the central government. She came with opposition leader V D Satheesan. KPCC President Sunny Joseph gave her membership. AICC General Secretaries K C Venugopal and Deepadas Munshi draped her a shawl. There are hints that she will contest from Kottarakkara in the assembly elections. If she is the UDF candidate, it is believed that the fight in Kottarakkara, where the LDF had good hopes, is going to be tough.
