THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary MV Govindan exuded confidence that LDF would storm back to power for the third time in Kerala by winning more than 90 seats. MV Govindan denied reports of anti-incumbency sentiment and said the reason for the increase in voting percentage was Special Intensive Revision. The CPM state secretary also opined that BJP will not open an account this time. He was speaking at a press conference held after the CPM state secretariat meeting.
“Some of the same tactics seen in North India were witnessed in Kerala. The UDF and BJP poured humongous money into the campaign. There was an attempt to buy votes with money. The Left Democratic Front came to power by winning more than 90 seats in the last two elections. When we examined it in detail this time too, there is no doubt that we will win more than 90 seats and make it a hat trick this time.
The Election Commission is the agency responsible for ensuring the right to vote for everyone. However, they have taken a stand of denying the opportunity to vote to those assigned to election duty. It is clear that more than 20,000 people have not had the opportunity to vote," added MV Govindan.
