NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has once again reacted sharply in the Sabarimala gold theft case. The court asked whether there is anything left in Sabarimala. The court made the observation while considering the bail plea of Smart Creations CEO Pankaj Bhandari, who was arrested in the case. The hearing of the plea was adjourned to March 9. Pankaj Bhandari's lawyer had requested that it be considered on Friday.

While considering the plea, Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, a member of the bench, asked Pankaj Bhandari's lawyer whether there is anything left in Sabarimala. Justice Sathish Chandra Sharma said that after hearing the details, the court could not help but ask this. Earlier too, the Supreme Court had made strong remarks over the gold theft in Sabarimala. While considering the plea of former Devaswom Board member K P Sankaradas, an accused in the case, the court asked, ‘Will you not even spare God.’

His lawyer pointed that Pankaj Bhandari has no role in the gold theft. His job was only to plate gold. There was no circumstance that required him to steal gold. Bhandari told the court that he runs a reputed company and that his firm has done gold plating work even for projects like Mangalyaan and Chandrayaan.
