NEW DELHI: K C Venugopal MP expressed his protest over the arrest of KPCC political affairs committee member and senior Congress leader N Subramanian. The police arrested Subramanian after he shared an AI generated picture of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijay and Unnikrishnan Potty, who was arrested in the Sabarimala gold theft case. K C blamed the police for being brutal.
'D Mani has been absconding in the Sabarimala gold theft case for a long time. Were the police able to catch him? What is happening in Kerala now is that the police are being used for political purposes. Are all the photos of Unnikrishnan Potty with the Chief Minister and Kadakampally AI? Don't distort the truth.
Is he an accused in the murder case to arrest him after surrounding his house. Or has he gone into hiding? What is the intention here? We will not question the legal action, but the law is applicable to everyone. The police have shown brutality in the case of Subramanian's arrest. It is a double standard. We will not be able to forget the gold theft even if threatened us,' said KC Venugopal.
Former opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala also responded to the issue. 'No one should speak against the chief minister of Kerala anymore. No posts. Is Unnikrishnan Potty a big man to attend the function with the chief minister. Did Unnikrishnan Potty attend because he is related to him? Didn't we see Unnikrishnan Potty handing the ambulance key to the chief minister in the video? The chief minister remembers seeing Sonia Gandhi. He doesn't remember this. Doesn't the chief minister remember Unnikrishnan Potty standing with Kadakampally? All this is political vendetta. Congress workers cannot be silenced by this act.
We will protest strongly. Even though the people have taught him a lesson, he is not learning. Subramanian now posted on Facebook the picture that Rajeev Chandrasekhar had shared earlier. Then why was Rajiv Chandrasekhar not arrested? It is because of the alliance between the BJP and CPM. The issues between the Governor and the Chief Minister have also changed due to Amit Shah's intervention. The chief minister should not think that he can silence us. We will face all this legally,' said Ramesh Chennithala. Meantime, Congress leaders and workers are protesting in front of the police station in protest against Subramanian's arrest.
