
THRISSUR: M K Varghese, who was the mayor of Thrissur for five years with the support of the Left Front, is returning to the Congress party. Varghese, who left the Congress five years ago after being denied the right to contest for the councilor post, became an independent and won. He then served as the mayor for five years with the support of the Left Front.
Varghese said that he is returning to the congress and will support Thrissur candidate Rajan Pallan. He informed that his return to the Congress was unconditional. Varghese said that he is returning to his family and this is Ghar Wapsi.
Varghese said that he contested as an independent in that circumstance and that he was not expelled from the Congress. He clarified that his return to the Congress is unconditional and that there are no conditions. He opined that Rajan Pallan will win from Thrissur with a huge majority and may even become a minister.
