‘Spent Rs 3 crores for organizing Ayyappa Sangamam, anyone can examine'

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former devaswom board president P S Prasanth stepped forward against devaswom commissioner's report regarding the income and expenditure accounts of the Global Ayyappa Sangamam. Prasanth's argument is that the amount taken as advance for organizing the function has been returned. He informed this via a Facebook post.

‘Trying to spread misunderstandings on the expenses for organizing the Ayyappa Sangamam. Only Rs 3 crore was spent for organizing the Ayyappa Sangamam and this amount was received through sponsorship. Another one crore rupee has come as sponsorship. Three crore rupees were taken as an advance for the organization from the head 'Religious Conferences and Lectures'.

Once the sponsorship was received, repaid the amount on 17-10-25. Apart from this, not a single rupee has been spent from the devaswom board so far. On the total amount spent, the amount mentioned in the interim report submitted to the court by the devaswom commissioner on 4-11-2025 is 4.5 crores plus GST. However, the basis on which this report has been given now should be investigated. Anyone can examine this,' Prasanth penned.
