PATHANAMTHITTA: Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil facing allegations of sexual misconduct, said that he will not try to put the party in any crisis. He said this while responding to the allegations levelled against him. Rahul shared the chat details of his friend and transgender Avantika with the media. Rahul also said that those who love him still support him. Rahul did not respond on stepping down from his MLA post.
'Party workers will not have to bow down their heads because of me. I will not put the party in crisis. I have some things to say to the people and the party. Basically, I am a party worker. I don’t want to put the party in any crisis. I am one who has always worked for the party.
I’m talking about the allegations levelled against me. My friend Avantika, who is also a transgender, raised some allegations against me. Avantika called me on the night of August 1 and told me that someone had called her to ask if there was any complaint against me. Avantika then told me that there was an attempt to trap me.
I have not spoken badly to Avantika. I will not blame her in any way. I hope that my side will also be heard. Some said that I delayed in giving an explanation for the allegations raised. Therefore, it cannot be said that I did anything wrong. We are all human beings, aren't we? I have my own feelings while going through this situation. Many people who love me are also blaming me. The rest will be mentioned in the people's court through media,' said Rahul.
