KANNUR: The management of Anjarakandy Dental College has denied the allegations leveled against the college authorities in connection with the death of Nithin Raj, a first-year BDS student. The notice issued by the college says that the institution or its teachers have no role in his death and is circulating baseless things.
College authorities said Nithin was summoned to the principal's room to discuss a complaint related to a loan app on the day of the incident. The reference list of the online loan taken by Nithin included the name of a teacher from the college. After the loan repayment was delayed, the recovery agents started harassing the teacher over the phone and through messages. Nithin was called to discuss this.
Nithin told the principal that he had taken the loan for his brother-in-law. Then tried to call Nithin's brother-in-law, but the phone was switched off. Although asked him to remove the teacher's name from the reference list, Nithin insisted that he had not given her name. Following this, the teacher decided to file a complaint with the cyber cell and started writing a complaint. It was at this time Nithin left the room.
After coming out of the principal's room, Nithin jumped from the top of the nearby medical college building. The college notice states that no one from the college is involved in the incident and that no complaints were filed against the institution or the teachers until Nithin's death. The management also alleged that false information is being spread against the college through the media. The police investigation into the incident is progressing. The police are investigating whether there was any mental pressure behind Nithin's death with the help of the cyber cell.
