KOCHI: Goa Governor Adv PS Sreedharan Pillai has said that Kerala Kaumudi follows journalistic morals that do not deny the soil it stands on. The governor was inaugurating the 114th anniversary of Kerala Kaumudi and the 104th anniversary of the arrival of the newspaper in Kochi at Ernakulam BTH.
"Kerala Kaumudi, even during the liberation struggle, has shown that while giving news with an open mind, it does not hesitate to expose the other side of it. That is why Kerala Kaumudi is a distinct newspaper. Honesty in attitudes, strength of words and excellence in thoughts are what make a newspaper and its guides different. Media cannot progress without values and democracy cannot progress without media. When the media weakens, democracy suffers. The newspaper has never watered down the fundamental views as Sri Narayana Gurudeva's message and Kerala Kaumudi are complementary," PS Sreedharan Pillai said.
Kerala State Real Estate Regulatory Authority Chairman Justice P Somarajan presided over the function. Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai, Justice P Somarajan, SNDP Yogam Kanayannur Union Chairman Maharaja Sivanandan, Kochi Corporation Councilor Padmaja S Menon, Kerala Kaumudi Deputy Editor and Kochi-Thrissur Unit Chief Prabhu Warrier lit the lamp together.
Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai released the book 'Healthy Life' published by Kerala Kaumudi about the eminent doctors of Kerala. Justice P. Somarajan received it.
