12 injured in KSRTC bus-lorry collision in Thrissur, driver in serious condition

THRISSUR: Many sustained injuries in a collision between a KSRTC bus and a lorry laden with fish. The accident happened Thursday morning at 1.30 am at Pannithadam. 12 including the driver of the bus and the conductor sustained injuries. The bus proceeding towards Kumily from Kozhikode and the lorry from Kunnamkulam collided. Two shops have been damaged after the vehicles rammed over it.


All the injured have been admitted at a private hospital in Kunnamkulam. The condition of the bus driver is critical. Th front portion of the bus and the lorry have been fully damaged. Pannithadam is a main junction where vehicles from Kechery, Akkikkavu, Wadakkancherry and Kunnumkulam pass. The locals alleged that vehicles passing through this way are speeding due to the completion of the road works. Two cars and a bike were involved in an accident here recently.
