NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah in an interview with Indian Express asserted about BJP opening account in southern bulwarks of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The union minister was responding to a question about NDA’s humongous target of 400 seats in this election.
Amit Shah also responded to opposition claims that BJP will amend the constitution if elected to power in 2024.
Amit Shah:
We had a brute majority since 2014. We could have easily changed the Constitution if it was our intent. We won’t do that ever. Ram temple is something related to faith and has nothing to do with election.
The uniform civil code is a major reform and Uttarakhand has already implemented it. I think it should be implemented across the country. Congress makes promises that never come true. That's why we label it 'Chinese Guarantee'. Congress promises should be implemented at least in the states where they rule to assure the public.
Rahul Gandhi comes with inane statements taught to him by his mentors. He says same tax should be imposed on Hawai sandals and branded shoes. The Supreme Court should review the position on the election bond. It is not right to eliminate any policy without introducing an alternative.
NDA will win 30 seats in West Bengal. 2019 will repeat in Bihar. Will win 16 or more seats in Odisha and BJP will have 10 to 12 MPs in Telangana. Up to 18 seats will be grabbed in Andhra Pradesh. Amit Shah claimed that the BJP will perform well in the North-Eastern states.
