38-year-old man and 17-year-old girl commit suicide in Alappuzha by jumping in front of train

ALAPPUZHA: A man and a schoolgirl died by suicide after jumping in front of a train at Karuvatta. The deceased have been identified as Cheruthana native Sreejith (38) and Pallippad native Devu (17). The incident occurred around 11:30 AM near the Karuvatta railway crossing.

Both individuals jumped in front of the Netravati Express, which was en route from Thiruvananthapuram to Mumbai. Following the incident, the train was halted for about 20 minutes. Sreejith was married and the father of two children.
