50-year-old man reaches Judgekunnu to meet girl, gets roughed up; four arrested

KOVALAM: Thiruvallam police arrested four people in connection with attacking a 50-year-old man, for his alleged relationship with a 17-year-old girl, in Thiruvananthapuram’s Judgekunnu.

Manoj (47) of Ammaveedu Lane, Karaikkamandapam, Nemom; Manu (35), a native of Kalliyoor; Arjunan (29) of Sivodayam Road, Chembakassery, Vellayani, and Ajith Kumar (22) of Valiyavila Puthan House, Vattiyoorkkavu, Kodunganoor, were arrested.

Rahim Panavoor (50), a native of Aruvikkara Azhikode, was beaten up by the accused at Judgekunnu in Thiruvallam the other day. The gang also snatched Rs. 21,000 from Rahim's bag and his mobile phone. The minor girls, an artist who frequents exhibitions across the state, met Rahim at one of the events. They soon became good friends.

Rahim reached Judgekunnu after being summoned by the girl. While he was talking to the girl, Manoj and his friends arrived on bikes, roughed him up and soon left the place. Locals informed the Thiruvallam police about an injured man lying on the top of the hill. The accused were remanded.
