THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 83 students of Thiruvananthapuram Medical College sought treatment for symptoms of food poisoning. Reports said the students were subjected to food poisoning after eating butter chicken served in the mess of the women’s hostel. They sought treatment for nausea and stomach pain. After the symptoms became unbearable, they sought treatment in the medical college.

However, no confirmation has been received from the hostel authorities regarding this. Reports said the food consumed by the students was brought from outside and the mess in the hostel was not functioning at that time. Initially, only three or four students felt unwell, but later, around 80 students started showing the same symptoms. The health condition of all the students is satisfactory. No further information is available.
