36 students hospitalized for food poisoning after serving fried rice, chicken curry

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A complaint has been filed for food poisoning in school. The incident happened at Navaikulam Kizhakkanela Govt LP School. 36 students have been hospitalized. The health department conducted an inspection in the school.

The incident happened last Wednesday. Fried rice and chicken curry were served to the students. 36 students later developed physical discomfort. The students were then admitted to Parippally Medical College.

There are indications that there was a lapse from the side of the school authorities. A media reported that the school authorities did not inform the health department even after the incident. The information came to light when an official from the health department went to the Paripally Medical College Hospital for some reason.
