PALAKKAD: The condition of the woman and her children, who sustained injuries after their car burst into flames soon after it was started in Polpully, is very critical. Elsy Martin (40), her children Alfred (6) and three-year-old Emil have been admitted at Kochi Medical Centre Hospital at 9 pm last night.

The three are undergoing expert treatment in the Burn ICU. The doctors said they are under treatment and observation. The accident happened at around 5 pm yesterday. The car burst into flames when Elsy, a nurse at a private hospital, started her car to go out with her children. Elsy’s eldest daughter, ten-year-old Aleena and her mother Daisy were injured. Both are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Palakkad.

The locals who heard the explosion, rushed to the spot and took them to the hospital. It is reported that a gas cylinder in the car ignited and caused the explosion. There is no clarity on this matter yet. The locals and the family are praying for them.
