Accident on wedding day; bride Avani who got married in hospital bed returns home

ALAPPUZHA: Avani, who was married in the hospital's emergency department, has been discharged from the hospital. Holding the hand of her husband Sharon, Avani returned to her home in Kommady after 12 days of treatment at the Ernakulam VPS Lakeshore Hospital. The hospital's Managing Director SK Abdullah presented Avani with a bouquet and wished her well. Corporate Communication Manager T. Anilkumar, Chief Nursing Officer Padmavathy and others were also present.

Avani was scheduled to marry VM Sharon, an assistant professor at Cherthala KVM College of Engineering and Information Technology, on November 21. However, Avani sustained serious injuries, including to her spine, in a car accident on her wedding day. Avani was then admitted to Lakeshore Hospital. The hospital authorities were arranging the wedding for Avani at the muhurtham time. J Avani is a teacher at Bishop Moore School in Cherthala.

Avani said that she is extremely grateful to everyone who supported her. Sharon stated that the support provided by people from every department of the hospital is invaluable. Both of them responded that health matters are the first priority and they wish to hold a wedding reception. The treatment was under the leadership of Dr. Sudish Karunakaran, head of the neurosurgery department. Avani's treatment expenses were made completely free of charge by VPS Lakeshore Chairman Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil. Avani needs to come to the hospital for further treatment.
